1. Boosting Immunity
So far, there is no effective solution for influenza worldwide because influenza viruses, including H1N1, are resistant to most drugs. However, scientists have found that people who regularly drink wine rarely show cold symptoms. The reason is that the common cold virus loses its viability in wine—phenolic compounds in grapes form a film on the virus's surface, making it difficult to enter human cells, thus preventing colds. Wine contains sugars, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, all of which are essential nutrients for the human body. More importantly, they can be directly absorbed by the body. For white-collar workers who are often in air-conditioned rooms and lack exercise, moderate regular consumption of red wine is greatly helpful for improving immunity.
2. Beneficial for Cardiovascular Health
The antioxidants in red wine can prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol in the arteries. This oxidation process is considered the root cause of heart disease. Oxidized LDL cholesterol eventually forms large blockages in blood vessels, leading to stroke or myocardial infarction. Researchers have found that red wine does indeed prevent the formation of these arterial plaques, while white wine's ability to do so is much lower, only one-fifth that of red wine. Green tea also has similar health benefits. Drinking 2-4 glasses (about 200cc) of red wine per week can inhibit the progression of arteriosclerosis and intimal hyperplasia.

3. Preventing Stomach Ulcers
British researchers found that moderate consumption of red wine reduces a person's risk of being infected with *Helicobacter pylori*, which is considered the main culprit of stomach ulcers. However, the researchers also warned that patients with stomach ulcers should not drink alcohol, as alcohol may irritate the nerves at the ulcer site, increasing pain. Researchers conducted a long-term survey of 4,902 adults and found that those who drank 3-6 glasses of red wine daily had an 11% lower probability of *H. pylori* infection compared to those who drank no alcohol. When the amount of wine was moderately increased, the probability of infection decreased by another 6%.
4. Beauty Benefits
The beauty benefits of red wine come from its powerful antioxidants, including SOD, which can neutralize free radicals produced by the body, protecting cells and organs from oxidation and restoring the skin's whiteness and radiance. The SOD extracted from red wine is particularly active, and its antioxidant function is much higher than that extracted directly from grapes. For this reason, Japanese researchers have also developed a spray-dried red wine powder that can be added to foods, soft drinks, ice cream, and cosmetics for convenient use.
5. Beneficial for Bone Health
Wine is more beneficial for bone health. Resveratrol in wine can promote bone growth. Red wine is more effective than white wine, while beer and spirits have no such effect.
6. Treating Tracheitis, Chronic Bronchitis, and Emphysema
Red wine contains a natural compound that can help treat tracheitis, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Grape seeds also contain anti-cancer substances, making wine a food with anti-cancer properties.
