Cilantro extract has the significant functions of inducing sweating, clearing heat, and promoting rash eruption. Its unique aroma can stimulate sweat gland secretion, promoting sweating and rash eruption. It also has the effect of harmonizing the stomach and regulating the middle jiao because its pungent and aromatic nature rises and disperses, which can promote gastrointestinal peristalsis and has the effect of stimulating the appetite and awakening the spleen.
It is especially suitable for those suffering from wind-cold external contraction, rectal prolapse, poor appetite, and children with measles. However, those with bad breath, bromhidrosis, severe dental caries, gastric ulcers, or sores should eat less cilantro. Additionally, because cilantro is warm in nature, it is not suitable for consumption by those whose measles has already erupted, or for those with heat toxin accumulation even if the rash has not fully erupted. Cilantro is rich in nutrients, containing vitamins C, carotene, and vitamins B1, B2, as well as abundant minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, and magnesium. It also contains potassium malate. The amount of vitamin C in cilantro is much higher than in common vegetables. An average person consuming 7-10 grams of cilantro leaves can meet the body's daily requirement for vitamin C. The carotene content in cilantro is more than 10 times higher than that in tomatoes, green beans, and cucumbers.
Cilantro is pungent and warm in nature, and it affects the Lung and Spleen meridians. It has the effects of inducing sweating and promoting rash eruption, promoting digestion and guiding qi downward, and awakening the spleen and harmonizing the middle jiao. It is primarily indicated for the initial stage of measles with poor eruption, as well as for food stagnation, poor appetite, and rectal prolapse.
