Everyone knows that eating fish regularly is good for your health, but not everyone loves it, mainly because of its fishy smell. If the fishy taste is not effectively removed, the experience can be quite unpleasant:
1. The dark blood clots along the spine must be removed
You can use kitchen paper towels for this, or rinse the fish twice with warm water. But remember, it must be warm water, never hot water.
2. The dark membrane on the inside of the abdominal cavity should also be removed.
3. Remove the fishy line
First, cut:
Make a cut about 1 cm below the fish's head. Don't cut too deep, about a quarter of the fish's thickness.
Second, find:
Open the cut and look for a white dot inside. This white dot is the fishy line.
Third, pull:
With your right hand, grip the fishy line. With your left hand, gently pat the fish's backbone to slowly pull it out. Remove the fishy line from the other side of the fish in the same way. After this process, the fish will have no fishy smell when cooked.
