Frog meat, also known as field chicken, is considered a delicacy by many. However, they are unaware of the significant harm it poses to human health.
Inside frogs, there is a parasite known as Diplostomulum. This parasite originally resides in animals like cats and dogs. It is excreted with their feces and develops into a procercoid in the water. When a copepod ingests the procercoid, it develops into a cercaria inside the copepod. When a frog ingests the infected copepod, the cercariae parasitize in the frog and gradually develop into Diplostomulum. If a person eats frog meat, (this parasite is not easily killed by high temperatures) the Diplostomulum will parasitize in the subcutaneous tissues of the abdomen, wrists, and calves. It can also parasitize in areas such as the eyes and around the kidneys. The parasitized Diplostomulum causes surrounding human cells and tissues to produce mucus, leading to facial swelling. In severe cases, it can cause abscesses. If the Diplostomulum invades the human eyeball, it can cause various inflammations, leading to corneal ulcers, vision impairment, and in severe cases, even blindness, causing lifelong suffering.
Furthermore, frogs live in farmlands for extended periods. Due to the frequent use of high-efficiency pesticides to kill pests in modern agriculture, frogs become contaminated after eating these pesticide-laden pests. If a person eats these frogs, the residual pesticides in their bodies are absorbed by the human body, leading to chronic pesticide poisoning and potentially causing various types of cancer.
Therefore, I urge everyone: absolutely do not eat frog meat!
