Never mix alcohol with these things!
1. Avoid eating cured meats like sausage and bacon. While a bite of bacon and a shot of whiskey may seem to have a lingering taste, it hides potential health risks. Cured and smoked foods contain high levels of nitrosamines, which are highly soluble in alcohol. This increases the risk of developing esophageal and stomach cancer.
2. Avoid eating liangfen (cold jelly noodles) and liangpi (cold skin noodles). These sour and refreshing noodles are popular bar snacks. However, their production process often involves alum, which has an astringent effect that slows blood flow and prolongs the time alcohol stays in the bloodstream, increasing its harmful effects on the body. Additionally, both alum and alcohol require the liver for detoxification, so consuming them together puts extra strain on the liver.

3. Avoid eating beef. Beef is highly nourishing, and alcohol is considered a "hot" substance in traditional Chinese medicine. Eating them together can easily lead to constipation, inflammation at the corners of the mouth, bloodshot eyes, and tinnitus.
4. Avoid eating grilled meat and skewers. While a few grilled skewers with a few beers might be satisfying, it's harmful to your body. Grilling not only depletes nutrients like fat and protein but also easily produces carcinogens. Alcohol dilates blood vessels in the digestive tract and damages the mucous lining, making it easier for these carcinogens to be absorbed by the body.
5. Avoid eating persimmons. Persimmons are rich in tannic acid, which can react with components in gastric juice to form insoluble precipitates. When consumed with alcohol, they form a hard-to-digest substance in the stomach that can cause intestinal obstruction.
6. Avoid eating sweet potatoes for 3 hours before and after drinking. Because sweet potatoes react with stomach acid to form hard, insoluble clumps that can impair digestion.
7. Avoid eating tomatoes. Tomatoes contain tannic acid, which, when consumed with alcohol, forms a hard-to-digest substance in the stomach that can cause intestinal obstruction.
8. Avoid eating carrots. Carrots are rich in carotene. Eating a large amount of carrots while drinking can easily produce liver toxins and induce liver disease.
9. Avoid carbonated drinks. The ingredients in carbonated beverages like soda can speed up the body's absorption of alcohol. Since alcohol is particularly harmful to the liver, it's best to eat more green leafy vegetables when drinking.
10. Taking medicine after drinking can be fatal! Cephalosporins + Alcohol = Poison. Doctors warn that you must never take cephalosporin drugs after drinking alcohol, as the combination can cause a toxic reaction in the body. If you are ill and must take medication, wait at least 7 days for the drug to be completely metabolized before drinking alcohol, otherwise the consequences can be very serious.
