Middle-aged men are particularly afraid of losing hair. The embarrassment of a "bald crown" is often self-deprecatingly referred to as "the local supporting the central government." In fact, adjusting your lifestyle can help prevent or delay this problem.
"Clinically, I often recommend that patients eat more celery, cilantro, and broccoli because these three foods have anti-androgen effects, which can help prevent baldness," said Professor Fan Weixin from the Department of Dermatology at Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital in an interview with the Health Times. Medically, baldness is known as androgenetic alopecia, the most common type of hair loss in adult men, which is caused by a combination of factors such as high androgen secretion and genetics. Research has shown that celery, cilantro, and broccoli have good anti-androgen effects, so while treating hair loss, eating more of these foods can help suppress androgen secretion.
"Men with a family history of hair loss should eat more of these three vegetables before they start losing hair," Fan Weixin said.
In addition, in terms of lifestyle, it is also important to eat less spicy food, quit smoking, maintain a cheerful mood, and have a regular routine. "These practices can delay the onset of hair loss."
Of course, there are many reasons for hair loss in men. Fan Weixin emphasized that improper choice of shampoo, dandruff, and frequent scratching of the hair can also cause hair loss. "Therefore, it is recommended to choose a suitable specialized shampoo and use it consistently, and at the same time, change the habit of scratching your head when you're thinking."
Fan Weixin pointed out that March to April and July to September are peak seasons for hair loss. Losing no more than 100 hairs a day is considered normal and nothing to worry about.
