Six cancer-causing food combinations.

Be careful with these six "carcinogenic food combinations"

Introduction: People are becoming more and more particular about what they eat, focusing not just on eating their fill, but on eating well and, most importantly, eating healthy. However, many improper food combinations can lead to illness and even cancer. Below, we introduce six carcinogenic food combinations that you must be cautious of!

1. Fruits and Seafood are Hard to Digest

When eating seafood, if you also consume fruits like grapes, hawthorn, pomegranates, or persimmons, you may experience vomiting, bloating, abdominal pain, or diarrhea. This is because these fruits contain tannic acid, which, when it encounters the protein in seafood, precipitates and solidifies, forming a substance that is difficult to digest. After eating seafood, you should wait at least 4 hours before eating these types of fruits.

2. Ham and Lactic Acid Beverages can Cause Cancer

Those who often eat sandwiches with yogurt for breakfast should be careful. The ham, bacon, etc., in sandwiches, when consumed with lactic acid beverages (which contain organic acids), can easily cause cancer. This is because, to preserve processed meat products like sausages, ham, bacon, and cured meats, food manufacturers add nitrates to prevent food spoilage and the growth of botulinum bacteria.

When nitrates encounter organic acids (such as lactic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, etc.), they are converted into a carcinogenic substance—nitrosamines. Therefore, do not frequently consume these types of processed meats to avoid increasing the risk of cancer.

3. Spinach and Tofu can Lead to Kidney Stones

Tofu contains magnesium chloride and calcium sulfate, while spinach contains oxalic acid. When these two foods are combined, they can form magnesium oxalate and calcium oxalate. These two white precipitates cannot be absorbed by the body. They not only hinder the absorption of calcium but also can easily lead to kidney stones.

4. Milk and Chocolate can Cause Diarrhea

Milk is rich in protein and calcium, while chocolate contains oxalic acid. If the two are eaten together, the calcium in the milk will combine with the oxalic acid in the chocolate to form calcium oxalate, which is insoluble in water. After consumption, it is not absorbed and can also cause symptoms like diarrhea and dry hair, affecting growth and development.

5. Radishes and Oranges can Induce Goiter

Radishes produce a substance called thiocyanate, which has an anti-thyroid effect. If consumed in large quantities simultaneously with fruits like oranges, apples, or grapes, the flavonoids in these fruits are broken down by bacteria in the intestines into thiocyanate, which inhibits thyroid function, thereby inducing goiter.

6. Seafood and Beer can Induce Gout

Seafood is a food that contains two components: purines and nucleotides. Beer, on the other hand, is rich in vitamin B1, an important catalyst for breaking down these two components. If you drink beer while eating seafood, it promotes the combination of harmful substances in the body, increasing uric acid levels in the blood, which in turn forms hard-to-pass urinary tract stones.

If you have metabolic issues, drinking beer while eating seafood can easily cause a sharp increase in blood uric acid levels, inducing gout, and leading to conditions like gouty nephropathy and gouty arthritis.
