How to prevent and treat chilblains in winter?
In winter, many people are prone to chilblains on their hands, feet, and ears. These are painful, itchy, and in severe cases, can even ulcerate and become infected. The causes of chilblains, besides the cold weather, are closely related to blood circulation. During winter, people are less active, which slows down blood circulation and metabolism. This can easily cause congestion in areas like the back of the hands, ears, and feet, leading to local tissue necrosis and chilblains. To prevent chilblains, besides keeping warm, you can refer to the following methods to protect your hands and feet.
1. Frequently rub and massage your hands, feet, and ears;
2. Persist in washing your hands and face with cold water or engaging in appropriate physical activities to speed up blood flow;
3. For early-stage chilblains, you can use two fresh chili and eggplant stems, three fresh orange peels, eight slices of ginger, and fifteen rosebuds. First, boil the chili, eggplant stems, and ginger for fifteen minutes, then add the rosebuds and orange peels and boil for another eight minutes. Use the resulting liquid to soak your hands and feet once a day. Do not use this method if the area has already ulcerated; wait until the wound has healed.
