The peak of cognitive ability is at age 22, with the most significant decline occurring at 27
A study led by researchers at the University of Virginia and involving 2000 people aged 18 to 60 found that cognitive ability peaks at an average age of 22. From this peak, the most significant decline in brainpower occurs at 27. According to an article in "Health," from the peak onwards, our brain's speed of processing information declines by 1% annually, and our ability to understand new knowledge deteriorates by 0.5%. These changes are usually not noticed until around the age of 40. A study by the University of London also found that men experience a faster decline in cognitive ability than women. Between the ages of 65 and 70, men's cognitive ability declines by 9.6%, while women in the same age group decline by 7.4%.
Do you need a brain detox?
The ancient saying, "The ten fingers are connected to the heart," actually refers to the connection between the hands and the brain. The health of your brain, whether it is filled with toxins or has aged, can be observed by carefully examining your hands. Many office workers, under long-term stress or with irritable and impatient personalities, often experience dizziness, emotional tension, and easily develop symptoms of finger numbness or trembling. In mild cases, their hands may tremble slightly when holding a pen; in severe cases, the entire hand may shake noticeably.
Some people who stay up late excessively, are fatigued, or neglect their health and age prematurely may experience symptoms similar to the elderly, such as hand numbness, sluggish fingers, slow movements, or even a lack of strength to write. These are all signs of brain aging and toxin blockage, and daily brain detoxification is necessary to activate and cleanse the brain.
A fully active brain makes whole-body detoxification simple
The brain is the central organ of the human body and plays a crucial regulatory role in all physiological and psychological activities. To put it in perspective, the body's clock for lifespan is in the brain. Although each organ has its own cycle of decline (like individual clocks), they are all controlled by the brain. Therefore, protecting the health and vitality of the brain is the key to slowing down overall aging and restoring optimal health.
When we talk about detoxifying and purifying the body, in addition to emphasizing simple methods like intestinal detoxification (removing old feces), liver detoxification (toxins, heavy metals), and reducing water retention, we should also put more effort into caring for and purifying our brain. As long as the brain is clear and not declining, improving the health of other organs can be twice as effective.
