Coconut milk tricolor cake
Every year during the Chinese New Year, my family makes this Indonesian specialty pastry-coconut milk three-color cake (my parents are returned overseas Chinese from Indonesia). When my mother was there, she only saw her make it, but she never did it herself. Now that my mother is gone, I miss the three-color coconut milk cake she made, so I tried it with my father. It turned out to be really successful. I just have to be very patient and taste the three-color coconut milk cake I made. It seems that I have tasted the taste of my mother's cooking ~ I hope everyone will like it too ~

Steps for Coconut milk tricolor cake

1
Main ingredients: raw flour, coconut milk (note that it is not the coconut milk you usually drink, but the coconut milk specially used for cooking. You can usually buy it in imported food stores), fine sugar
2
First pour the coconut milk into a large bowl (be careful to shake it well before opening the can), then add 400 ml of warm water (use an empty coconut milk bottle as a measuring device, a can of coconut milk is exactly 400 ml), and then add 350 grams of fine granulated sugar, and a little salt, and then stir well. Finally, slowly add the cornflour and stir while setting aside
3
Finally divide it into three portions, two of which are added with food coloring
4
Bring water to the water, put the large plate in after the water boils, and then use a spoon to pour the flour paste into the plate (remember that the flour paste will precipitate and be sure to stir at all times), and use a toothpick to puncture the bubbles on it, otherwise it will be steamed out. Smooth yo.

I use a 28-cm diameter plate at home. I open the lid after about two minutes. When I see that the paste has become transparent, it is cooked. Don't overfire, otherwise bubbles will arise. Be sure to dry the water droplets on the lid and then cover it back. Put it layer by layer. When one layer becomes transparent, it means that it is ripe, you can put the second layer of paste, and so on. I made twelve floors.
6
Be sure to cool before cutting, otherwise it will be sticky and thin.

Since the coconut oil in coconut milk will solidify, be sure to melt it with warm water. Raw flour will precipitate, so be sure to stir at all times. To distinguish whether the paste is ripe is whether it is still white. If it is still white, it means that it is not yet ripe. Excessive heat will cause bubbles, so that layers of connection cannot be achieved. Every time you open the lid, be sure to dry the water droplets on it and cover it back, otherwise the water droplets falling on the slurry will also affect the layers connected.
