chopped pepper fish head

chopped pepper fish head
I often ask my husband what he wants to eat tomorrow, and the answer is always two words: "Whatever!" It gives people a headache every day when shopping for groceries. It's rare that my husband said the night before yesterday: "Buy a fish head tomorrow and make chopped pepper fish head!" I was as happy as I had received an imperial edict. I immediately took action, collected recipes, bought ingredients, prepared everything early, and waited for my husband to come back in the evening to evaluate, hehe!
Every time I go to the Hunan cuisine restaurant, my husband must order the chopped pepper fish head. Now that I think about it, I really love it to the extreme. Why didn't I remember it? My daughter never eats it because she is afraid of spicy food. But because it was made by myself and put in bottled chopped peppers bought in the supermarket, which was not very spicy, my daughter actually liked them very much. While eating, she said,"Mom, how can you be so good at making such a delicious food!" Her husband hardly ate much rice. He ate most of the fish head (the fish head he bought was too big). After putting down the bowls and chopsticks, he kept saying,"I'm so overwhelmed that I can't move!" Haha, listening to this, the pride and happiness in my heart are almost overflowing.
Because the fish head I bought this time was too big, I didn't have such a big plate at home. I had to endure the pain of dividing the fish head into two halves, put it on two plates, and steam it separately. Although it wasn't very good, the taste was indescribable. The fish head needs to be big to taste delicious!
Because I was preparing alone at home, I really couldn't follow the entire drawing, so I could only submit a finished drawing.

Steps for chopped pepper fish head

  • 1
Wash the fish head, remove the gills and scales, and cut it in half from the center of the fish lip, connecting the fish head back to the back.
  • 2
Spread salt, rice wine (you can also replace cooking wine), white pepper (a must), evenly on the fish head, and marinate for 10 minutes. The amount of salt must be small because chopped peppers are salty.
  • 3
Put 2-3 slices of ginger and white radish slices on the bottom of the plate, spread the chopped pepper on the fish head, and then place the fish head on top.
  • 4
Spread some shredded ginger on the fish head.
  • 5
Put appropriate amount of water in the steamer. After the water boils, put the fish head on the pan and steam for 10 minutes over high heat, turn off the heat, and steam for 3 minutes.
  • 6
After taking out of the pan, sprinkle the chopped green onion on the fish head. The oil is very hot. Pour it on the fish head with a spoon. It will make a squeaking sound and the aroma will be fragrant.

This is another plate of fish heads. Unfortunately, before I had time to take pictures, my husband had already eaten a large piece of fish heads, which made it look too bad.

    1. When steaming the fish, you can boil some noodles and toss them with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking. After eating the fish head, you can put the noodles into the soup to mix and eat—it's incredibly delicious! 2. The store-bought bottled chopped chili peppers are not very spicy. If you can handle spicy food, it is recommended to buy some wild mountain peppers, chop them up, and mix them in. 3. If you want to eat it mixed with noodles, be sure to use little or no salt, otherwise the soup will be too salty to eat. 4. Although they say the bigger the fish head, the better it tastes, if you don't have a large plate like I do, I suggest buying a smaller one! Of course, if you aren't particular about presentation and have a double-layer steamer like mine, you can also split it onto two plates and steam them together.
