Huanxituo is one of Wuhan's specialty breakfast. It's a bit like hemp balls in the north, but it tastes more like fried glutinous rice balls wrapped in sesame seeds and white sugar.
When it was freshly fried, it was round and crispy; when biting open, it was half-air inside, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside; because there is sugar filling, you should be careful when eating it, which is very hot for your mouth.
In those days, it was still quite extravagant to eat delicious food like Xiang Huanxituo. Because of its festive name, it is deeply loved by people.
In childhood memory, it is the best choice to eat breakfast too early. Soft, glutinous, sweet, delicious but not greasy!
Nowadays, people pay more attention to a healthy diet, and fried food has gradually declined from the breakfast market, or even disappeared... Happy Tuo, which represents a festive breakfast and is about to withdraw from the historical stage.

Steps for Wuhan Breakfast Huanxituo

1
Prepare the ingredients.
2
Add appropriate amount of cold water to glutinous rice flour and mix well.
3
Mix glutinous rice flour into slightly dry dough; divide into four portions.
4
Add white sugar to flour and a little oil.
5
Stir well into filling. (I was worried that the happy lump would burst during the frying process and the sugar would spray out, so add some flour to make a dry filling.)
6
Take a portion of glutinous rice flour, knead it into a slightly thick round skin, and wrap it in the sugar filling.
7
Roll it full of white sesame seeds.
8
Make four happy embryos well.
9
Heat the oil in the pot and add the happy cake; push slowly over low heat, roll and fry until cooked.
