I still remember that every time I went to Beijing to visit, I would go to eat old Beijing Zhajang Noodles and order fried red fruits at Zhajang Noodle Restaurant.

Sour and sweet fried red fruits are my love. I always thought this snack was difficult to make. I probably have some royal secret recipe, otherwise why would it be so delicious!

Later, I saw someone making this on the Gourmet website, and it was very simple, so I gave it a try. Sure enough, it really tasted like this!

It's the ripening season of hawthorn, and my husband's company planted a hawthorn tree. Each of them had a big bag a few days ago. I don't think it's particularly cooked yet, so a bite will sour your teeth. So I made fried red fruits and ate them, adding more rock sugar, and it really didn't feel so sour after cooking.

If you use mature hawthorn to make it, it will definitely taste better!
