Korean bibimbap
I have tasted Korean stone bibimbap. The taste of rice grains mixed with sauce is really unforgettable. Well, on a whim, I decided to make it myself.

Steps for Korean bibimbap

  • Make step 0
    1
Ingredients: potatoes, carrots, lettuce, pearl rice, eggs, Korean bibimbap sauce, tofu cubes
  • Make step 1
    2
Wash the rice first and use an electric rice cooker to cook. Note that the amount of water should be less than usual for cooking, in order to make the rice grains fuller and have a taste. Taking advantage of the gap between cooking, I cut carrots, lettuce, tofu cubes and potatoes into shredded silk. I was lazy and used a shredding board to scrape it.

Put shredded carrots and shredded lettuce in the pot and blanch them, pick them up, place them in a bowl, add some salt and a little sesame oil, and mix well. I was afraid that the shredded potatoes would break when they were blanched soft, so add salt to the pot and stir-fry them until they are done. In order to add flavor, the shredded tofu is also slightly stir-fried.

Put a little bit of oil in the pan, heat it up, turn down the heat, beat the eggs and place them in the pan. When the egg whites are just formed, sprinkle a little bit of water on the edge of the pan. In this way, the egg whites will be tender and the yolks will not grow old. How cooked the eggs are depends on how everyone likes them. The yolks of bibimbap sold outside are raw and mixed while the rice is hot.

Serve freshly cooked rice in a deeper bowl for easy mixing.
  • Make step 5
    6
Place the cooked shredded carrot, shredded lettuce, shredded potatoes, and shredded tofu on top and stack well.
  • Make step 6
    7
    Add the lightly fried eggs.
  • Make step 7
    8
Korean bibimbap sauce, the amount of sauce depends on how much everyone likes.
  • Make step 8

After mixing all the ingredients well, you can start eating. The taste is not bad, but the taste is still not as good as the one in the outside shop. I guess it's because of the sauce. I bought Korean spicy sauce this time and said it can be used for bibimbap. The spicy food is not very spicy, it seems like I lack a little sweetness. Well, next time I buy a sweet Korean sauce and try again.
