Vegetarian pumpkin pie

Vegetarian pumpkin pie
I bought a big pumpkin at home, so I steamed a small part of it yesterday to make pumpkin pie.
Why is it called vegetarian? Because there was no stuffing (I didn't buy it).
Old pumpkins will dry and sweeter. The one I bought is not an old pumpkin, so a lot of water comes out during the steaming process, but fortunately it is still very sweet.
But because there was a lot of moisture, I added a lot of glutinous rice flour when kneading the dough. It was so sticky ~~ I said it very hard when making the cake.
It is recommended that you add some flour when cooking, and use filter cloth to squeeze the water out of the steamed pumpkin so that it will not be so sticky.

  • Vegetarian pumpkin pie Make Tips

    1. It is best to squeeze the steamed pumpkin puree once more through a cheesecloth to remove excess water. 2. Adding only glutinous rice flour makes it very sticky and difficult to shape; you can mix in some all-purpose flour. 3. The step of steaming the flour can be omitted. You can shape them into patties and fry them directly, though the cooking time will be longer.
