Carp steamed buns

Carp steamed buns
When I was a child, my mother would make a lot of these fancy dough cakes during the Chinese New Year. At that time, there were also many colors, including pomegranate, peach, small flower baskets (I like them very much, but now I can't find this kind of mold), carp, lotus seeds, etc. The fancy dough cakes seem no different from steamed buns, except for some extra patterns, but the requirements for fermentation are very high. The dough should not be too soft and the fermentation should not be excessive, otherwise, it will be beyond recognition after steaming. Making these pasta cakes at home is not like a professional pasta processing site that has a fermentation box, especially in winter. In summer, when the temperature is very high, fermentation is easy and the probability of success is high, so I made some colorful pasta cakes

Steaming Method: The steaming method is the same as for mantou products. 1. Start steaming from cold water, or place the steamer in when the water in the pot is hot but not yet boiling. 2. When steam starts to emerge from the edges of the steamer, indicating the water is boiling, start the timer. 3. Determine the steaming time according to size; approximately 15–20 minutes. 4. The size of the dough is directly proportional to the steaming time. 5. After turning off the heat, first crack the steamer lid open slightly. Wait for 3–5 minutes before opening the steamer completely. This prevents the finished product from being subjected to sudden temperature changes, which could affect its appearance.
