1. Since it is a new baking mold and I wasn't sure how well it would release, I applied a non-stick treatment. I greased the inside of the mold with a layer of oil, dusted it with flour, and then poured out the excess flour. This makes it very easy to unmold, but do not apply too much; avoid any accumulation of oil.
2. Poked it with a toothpick; seeing no flour sticking to it indicated that it was cooked.
