How to Make Pork and Green Pepper Dumplings

Dumplings with a savory pork and green pepper filling are a delicious, homemade treat. Follow this simple guide to create perfect dumplings every time.

Ingredients:

For the filling, you’ll need 300g ground pork, 2-3 green peppers (finely diced), 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp white pepper, and 2 chopped green onions. For the dumpling wrappers, use 300g all-purpose flour and 150ml warm water (or store-bought wrappers for convenience).

Steps:

1. Prepare the filling: Mix ground pork with diced green peppers, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, white pepper, and green onions. Stir well for 3-5 minutes until the mixture becomes sticky. Set aside.

2. Make the dough: Combine flour and warm water, knead into a smooth dough. Let it rest for 20 minutes, then roll into thin logs and cut into small pieces. Roll each piece into a circular wrapper (about 3-4 inches in diameter).

3. Assemble the dumplings: Place 1 tsp of filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half, pinch the edges to seal, and create pleats for a classic shape.

4. Cook: Boil water in a pot. Add dumplings (do not overcrowd) and cook for 3-5 minutes until they float. For a crispier texture, pan-fry them after boiling: heat oil in a pan, cook dumplings until golden on both sides, then add 2 tbsp water and cover for 2 minutes.

Serve hot with soy sauce, vinegar, or chili oil. Enjoy these flavorful dumplings as a satisfying meal or snack!
