Nowadays, people are very particular about what they eat, but they are unaware that improper food combinations can lead to diseases, and even cancer.
Seafood and beer can easily induce gout
Seafood is a food that contains two components: purine and nucleotide, while beer is rich in vitamin B1, an important catalyst that breaks down these two components. If you eat seafood and drink beer at the same time, it will promote the combination of harmful substances in the body, increase the uric acid content in the blood, and thus form hard-to-excrete urinary tract stones. If you have metabolic problems, eating seafood while drinking beer can easily cause a sharp increase in blood uric acid levels, inducing gout, and even leading to gouty nephropathy, gouty arthritis, etc.
Ham and lactic acid beverages can easily cause cancer
People who often eat sandwiches with yogurt for breakfast should be careful. Ham, bacon, etc. in sandwiches, when consumed with lactic acid beverages (containing organic acids), can easily cause cancer. This is because, to preserve processed meat products like sausages, ham, bacon, and cured meats, food manufacturers add nitrates to prevent food spoilage and the growth of botulinum. When nitrates encounter organic acids (lactic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, etc.), they are converted into a carcinogen—nitrosamine. Therefore, do not often eat such processed meats to avoid increasing the risk of cancer.
Radishes and oranges can easily induce goiter
Radishes produce a substance called thiocyanate that inhibits the thyroid gland. If you consume large amounts of oranges, apples, grapes, and other fruits at the same time, the flavonoids in the fruits are broken down by bacteria in the intestines and converted into thiocyanate, which inhibits thyroid function, thereby inducing goiter.
Milk and chocolate can easily cause diarrhea
Milk is rich in protein and calcium, while chocolate contains oxalic acid. If the two are eaten together, the calcium in the milk will combine with the oxalic acid in the chocolate to form calcium oxalate, which is insoluble in water. After consumption, it is not absorbed and can also cause symptoms such as diarrhea and dry hair, affecting growth and development.
