It's been noticed that more and more people around me are becoming vegetarian, eating less meat. This means they're getting less of the essential protein that meat contains. So, how can we solve this contradiction? Today, I'm going to introduce five vegetarian foods whose protein content can rival that of meat.
1. Oatmeal
Protein content is slightly under 3%. It's also rich in trace elements like manganese and selenium, and can help lower blood lipids.
2. Peas
Rich in dietary fiber, vitamin K, minerals, and vitamin C, with a protein content of 5%.
3. Peanut Butter
Contains resveratrol, the same compound found in wine, as well as monounsaturated fatty acids, which can help prevent cardiovascular disease. Its protein content is about 28%.
4. Brown Rice
Does not easily raise blood sugar, contains minerals and fiber, with a protein content of 2.5%.
5. Coconut
Rich in protein and dietary fiber. However, the saturated fat content of coconut meat is also very high, so it should not be eaten frequently.
