Eating carrots offers many benefits for men.

Introduction: Men should eat more carrots. According to a report in the British Daily Mail on March 26, a new study by scholars from Zhejiang University found that regularly eating colorful vegetables can reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men by nearly one-fifth, especially carrots. The research results, published in the European Journal of Nutrition, show that men who eat carrots at least three times a week have an 18% lower chance of developing prostate cancer.

Researchers pooled 10 small-scale studies from around the world to investigate the anti-cancer effects of carrots. The analysis showed that eating carrots had a significant impact on reducing the incidence of prostate cancer, and this conclusion held true even when researchers considered other risk factors for men developing the disease, such as obesity.

The researchers believe that carrots contain large amounts of carotenoids, especially beta-carotene and lycopene, both of which can reduce the damage to cells caused by oxidative stress, thereby having an anti-cancer effect.

Note: Carrots should not be eaten as a side dish with alcohol

Carrots are colorful and crisp, making them a good ingredient for side dishes. However, carrots should not be eaten as a side dish when drinking alcohol. The reason is that after carrots and alcohol are consumed together, the rich carotene in the carrots enters the body along with the alcohol, producing toxins in the liver and leading to liver disease.
