Eating more alkaline foods can help improve intelligence.

Introduction: Medical research confirms that acidic foods produce anions after metabolism. As anion levels rise, the pH value decreases; conversely, alkaline foods produce cations. If cation levels rise, the pH value increases. Consuming more alkaline foods can improve IQ, a benefit that applies not only to children but to all people.

Foods can be classified into three types based on their elemental composition: alkaline, neutral, and acidic. Foods rich in elements like potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium are alkaline foods, such as fruits, vegetables, soy products, dairy products, kelp, and alkaline beverages. In contrast, foods rich in elements like phosphorus, chlorine, sulfur, and iodine are acidic foods, such as meat, grains, oils, and alcoholic beverages. By regulating the acidity and alkalinity of your diet, you can achieve effects similar to medication.

Scientists have discovered that within the allowable range of body fluid acidity, a higher acidity (i.e., a lower pH value) is associated with a lower IQ, while a higher alkalinity (i.e., a higher pH value) is associated with a higher IQ. Consequently, scientists have proposed the idea of improving dietary structure and consuming more alkaline foods to enhance intelligence levels.

Nutritionists classify foods rich in elements like potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium as alkaline foods, such as fruits, vegetables, soy products, dairy products, kelp, and alkaline beverages. They classify foods rich in elements like sulfur, chlorine, and iodine as acidic foods, such as meat, grains, oils, and alcoholic beverages. It is recommended that children consume less meat and more soy and dairy products; eat fewer oily foods and more vegetables and fruits; and eat less sweets and more seafood. It should be noted that foods with a sour taste are not necessarily acidic foods. For example, oranges are rich in potassium, so they are alkaline rather than acidic foods.

The impact of diet on IQ has garnered widespread attention. British scientists believe that the acidity and alkalinity of human brain fluid are related to IQ. Within the allowable range of body fluid acidity, a more acidic environment corresponds to a lower IQ, while a more alkaline environment corresponds to a higher IQ. When scientists observed 42 boys aged 6 to 13, they found that those with a brain fluid pH greater than 7.0 had an IQ twice as high as those with a pH less than 7.0.

Since the acidity and alkalinity of body fluids can be regulated through diet, scientists have suggested improving the dietary structure by consuming more alkaline foods to enhance intelligence levels. For children, this means consuming less large fish and meat and more soy and dairy products; eating fewer oily foods and more vegetables and fruits; and eating less sweets and more seafood. This dietary habit is beneficial for improving IQ, especially in children.
