This generation of Ningbo Shaoxing needs to make green dumplings and green cakes during the Qingming Festival. I remember when I was a child, people in the whole village would gather together to make green cakes during the Qingming Festival. We call it "mozi" here. We use a large stone mortar to mash the glutinous rice, then spread it on a table sprinkled with pine flowers, and then spread it into a very large cake. After slicing it into small pieces, you can eat it. This is a memory from childhood. In Ningbo, different practices towards Qingtuanzi are different from place to place. The green dumplings we made this time have stuffing, and glutinous rice is rolled on the outside. Such a snow-white one is also called "snow dumplings".
