Yams are really good things and live up to their reputation.

Nutritional Tips: 1. "Never judge a medicine by its appearance." According to ancient records, consuming plenty of Chinese yam offers the benefits of "sharpening hearing and vision" and "relieving hunger while prolonging life," which is highly beneficial to human health. Folklore also suggests that Chinese yam significantly helps in regulating physiological functions, recovering from post-illness weakness, postpartum care for women, and strengthening children's physiques, hence it is known as a "food medicine." 2. As a highly nutritious food, Chinese yam contains large amounts of starch, protein, B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, glucose, crude protein amino acids, choline, allantoin, etc. Among these, the important nutrient diosgenin is a precursor for the synthesis of female hormones; it has the efficacy of nourishing Yin and strengthening Yang, and enhancing metabolism. The mucilage, containing polysaccharide proteins and digestive enzymes found in fresh tubers, can prevent fat deposition in the cardiovascular system and aid gastrointestinal digestion and absorption. 3. What is even more worth mentioning is that for women, Chinese yam is a natural slimming delicacy. It contains sufficient fiber to create a feeling of fullness after consumption, thereby controlling the desire to eat. Furthermore, Chinese yam is inherently a high-nutrition, low-calorie food, allowing one to eat plenty of it without the worry of weight gain.
