A Simple Guide to Stir-Fried Oyster Mushroom with Bok Choy

Stir-fried oyster mushroom with bok choy in oyster sauce is a quick, nutritious, and flavorful dish, perfect for busy weeknights. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to making it at home.

Ingredients:

- 200g fresh oyster mushrooms, trimmed and torn into bite-sized pieces

- 300g bok choy, washed and cut into 3-inch sections

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tbsp cooking oil

- 2 tbsp oyster sauce

- 1 tsp soy sauce

- ½ tsp sugar

- 1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)

- Salt to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the vegetables: Rinse mushrooms and bok choy thoroughly. Pat dry mushrooms with a paper towel to ensure crispiness.

2. Sauté aromatics: Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

3. Cook mushrooms: Add oyster mushrooms and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until they soften and release their juices.

4. Season and cook bok choy: Pour in oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar. Toss to coat the mushrooms. Add bok choy and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until wilted but still crisp.

5. Thicken the sauce: Drizzle the cornstarch-water mixture and stir quickly until the sauce thickens slightly (about 1 minute). Adjust salt if needed.

6. Serve: Transfer to a plate and enjoy hot with steamed rice.

This dish balances the umami of oyster sauce with the earthy mushrooms and fresh bok choy, making it a healthy and satisfying meal. Enjoy your homemade creation!
