1. Turn on the range hood for longer. Open the windows before cooking and keep the range hood on throughout the process. After finishing cooking, leave the range hood on for an additional 10 minutes to prevent smoke residue.
2. Wash your hands and face promptly. After cooking, remember to pat down your clothes and wash your hands and face to remove any grease and smoke that may have adhered to your skin or body. You can also wear an apron and a hat while cooking to shield yourself from pollutants. When using cooking methods like frying, stir-frying, or searing, it's best to wear a mask to reduce the amount of smoke inhaled.
3. Lower the cooking oil temperature. The higher the oil temperature, the faster it decomposes and oxidizes. When stir-frying, keep the oil temperature below medium heat (around 150°C/300°F) to avoid smoke.
4. Reduce frying, stir-frying, and searing. Opt for more stewing, boiling, steaming, and cold-dressing methods. This not only reduces smoke but also helps maintain a lighter diet.
