tofu box
By ReneeSchmidt
Tofu boxes are also a very distinctive Boshan dish with a unique shape. Tofu boxes have always used "vegetarian vegetables and meat cooking" as a guise to attract customers. This is because, although it can be said that anything can be put in the "box", for more than a hundred years, it has been customary to use pork and sea rice as the main fillings, and then choose fungus, green cabbage heart, Olay slices, onions, ginger, garlic and other vegetables., coupled with seasonings, it is definitely delicious and nutritious. Let's make it myself and try it. This is also the first time we have made it!

Steps for tofu box

1
Dice pork, winter bamboo shoots, sea rice, fungus, leeks, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
2
Cut the tofu into pieces 5cm long and 3cm wide (I cut it a little larger).
3
Put the oil in the pan, cook until it is 80% hot, and fry the tofu piece by piece into the pan.
4
Fry tofu until golden brown and remove.
5
Leave a little oil in the spoon, stir-fry with chopped green onions and ginger, add in the diced pork and stir-fry.
6
Pour in the sauce (soy sauce, cooking wine, water), then add the sea rice, winter bamboo shoots, fungus, clear soup, and a little salt, stir-fry until ripe, and then turn off the heat.
7
Pour in the diced leeks and the stir-fried stuffing and mix well.
8
Pour the fried stuffing into a bowl.
9
Cut the fried tofu pieces horizontally on the top of each piece (one side is connected) to form a box shape.
10
Lift the lid and dig out the tender tofu inside.
11
Fill the fried eight-treasure meat paste into the tofu.
12
Place the tofu with the meat filling in the steamer and steam for 3-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
13
Put the oil in the pan and heat it up, add the onions, ginger and garlic to burst into the fragrance.
14
Add diced cucumber, diced tomato, soy sauce and clear soup to boil.
15
Add a little water starch and bring to a boil, add a little sesame oil.
16
Finally, pour the soup onto the steamed tofu box.
