Note: Beef should be stewed in warm water. Blanching is best, as there are quite a few impurities in beef nowadays. Beef stewed in a clay pot is softer and more tender; if you don't have one, add a few slices of hawthorn and use a stew pot instead. Choose vegetables according to your preference, but onions, cabbage, and tomatoes are essential.
