Steps for Braised pork with seaweed
1
Cut the pork belly into thick slices, blanch with water, and set aside. Cut the soaked seaweed into slices.2
Put a little oil in the frying pan, pour in a small spoonful of white sugar, wait until you see the sugar in the pan bubble, pour in the pork belly, and stir fry quickly. (Don't use the heat too high at this time.) Add ginger and star anise after a few minutes. Stir fry until fragrant. After seeing that some of the oil in the meat is spat out, pour in a suitable amount of soy sauce, add boiling water, water and meat are flat, and simmer for about 20 minutes on low heat (this depends on the amount of meat)3
After twenty minutes, the water in the pan was basically gone. Pour in the seaweed and stir well, then add boiling water and simmer for ten minutes. Add garlic sprouts, pepper powder, and monosodium glutamate, and remove from the pan.Braised pork with seaweed Make Tips
When cooking meat, if you need to add water halfway, be sure to add boiling water! If you add cold water, the meat will not be easy to soften and rot. Just when it comes to using Haitian soy sauce, I always feel that the color of the meat cooked with this soy sauce is better. Purely personal preference.
