How to Make Silky Tofu Salad: A Simple Guide

Silken tofu, known for its delicate texture, is a star in refreshing salads. Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating this easy, delicious dish.

Ingredients: 1 block (350g) silken tofu, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sugar, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 chopped green onion, 1 tsp chili flakes (optional), and toppings like cucumber shreds, sesame seeds, or crushed peanuts.

Steps:

1. Prep the tofu: Drain the silken tofu and gently pat dry with paper towels. Slice into cubes or use a spoon to scoop into bite-sized pieces. Avoid pressing too hard to maintain its softness.

2. Make the dressing: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and chili flakes (if using) until the sugar dissolves.

3. Combine: Gently toss the tofu cubes with the dressing in a large bowl. Add cucumber shreds and green onions, being careful not to break the tofu.

4. Chill and serve: Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to let flavors meld. Garnish with sesame seeds or peanuts before serving.

Tips: For extra crunch, add crispy fried onions or diced bell peppers. This versatile dish pairs perfectly with rice or as a light appetizer. Enjoy your healthy, flavorful tofu salad!
