Raisin soft bread, a delightful blend of fluffy texture and sweet-tangy raisins, is a beloved treat. Here’s a simple recipe to bake it at home.
Ingredients: 300g bread flour, 30g sugar, 3g salt, 3g instant yeast, 180ml warm milk, 1 egg, 30g softened butter, 100g raisins (soaked in warm water for 15 mins, then drained).
Steps:
1. Dough Preparation: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk and egg, knead into a smooth dough. Knead in butter gradually until the dough is elastic.
2. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
3. Shape & Add Raisins: Punch down the dough, roll it out, and spread raisins evenly. Fold the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a baking tin.
4. Second Rise: Cover and let it rise for another 45 minutes until puffy.
5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the top with milk or egg wash. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Tap the bottom—if it sounds hollow, it’s done.
Cool completely before slicing. Enjoy this soft, raisin-studded bread with tea or as a snack!
