Harley Cake

Harley Cake Recipe Guide

A Harley cake, inspired by the bold, rebellious spirit of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, is a showstopper for bike enthusiasts. Here’s a simple guide to crafting this iconic dessert.

Ingredients:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1½ cups sugar, 1½ tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt

- 1 cup milk, ½ cup vegetable oil, 3 eggs, 2 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 cup cocoa powder (for chocolate base), black and orange food coloring

Steps:

1. Prepare the Batter: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. In another, whisk milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry mixes, then divide into two portions. Add cocoa to one portion for the chocolate base.

2. Bake Layers: Pour chocolate batter into two 9-inch pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.

3. Make Frosting: Beat 1½ cups softened butter, 4 cups powdered sugar, and 3 tbsp milk. Add black food coloring for most of the frosting, reserving a small portion for orange accents.

4. Assemble: Stack layers with black frosting between them. Cover the cake entirely in black frosting. Use orange frosting to pipe “Harley-Davidson” logos, flames, or motorcycle details on top and sides.

Tips: For a motorcyclist’s touch, add edible chrome decorations or a chocolate “handlebar” on top. Serve chilled for a rich, moist finish that revs up any celebration!
