Tofu Box is a local dish in Shandong, belonging to the Shandong cuisine family. The main raw material is tofu, also known as Shandong Tofu Box and Qi Tofu Box. Zibo tofu box is a famous traditional dish in Boshan. Legend has it that during his southern tour of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong once "visited" Boshan. When serving a meal, he served tofu boxes, which Qianlong praised after eating.
Boshan tofu box is a well-known local representative dish. Its legendary story has been accumulated and interpreted for more than 300 years since the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. Since its formation, it has been passed down from generation to generation and has become a common dish in Boshan area. This dish can be cooked in almost everyone from restaurants to homes, and different tofu boxes have been formed due to the different tastes of each family.
In January 2010, it was announced as a district-level intangible cultural heritage by the People's Government of Boshan District. It is actually a must-eat food when you visit Shandong
