Ingredients:

- 1½ cups all-purpose flour

- 2 tbsp matcha powder (high-quality for best color/flavor)

- ½ tsp baking soda

- ¼ tsp salt

- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

- ½ cup granulated sugar

- ¼ cup brown sugar

- 1 large egg

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Whisk flour, matcha, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.

2. Cream Butter & Sugars: Beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 mins).

3. Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in egg and vanilla until well combined.

4. Combine Dry & Wet: Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, mixing on low until just incorporated. Do not overmix.

5. Shape & Bake: Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass. Bake for 10-12 mins until edges set but centers remain soft. Cool on sheet for 5 mins, then transfer to a wire rack.
