There are endless ways to cook potatoes, enough for a new dish every single day of the month!
Just admit it, potatoes are the most versatile food! There are countless ways to prepare them, and if you're still only familiar with stir-fried potato slices, shredded potatoes, and french fries, then you're seriously missing out!
Crispy Fried Potatoes with a Runny Egg
Clean the potatoes and cut them into pieces with the skin on. Boil in water for 15 minutes. Peel and deep-fry until golden. Sauté minced garlic, then add the potatoes. Before serving, add an appropriate amount of salt and pepper. Best enjoyed while hot!
Crispy Fried Potato Slices
Cheesy Baked Potato Slices
Choose large, long potatoes and slice them. Microwave until cooked. Place a slice of cheese on top. For a more luxurious version, you can also add crumbled bacon on top of the cheese. If you have an oven, bake at around 180°C until the cheese is melted. If not, continue microwaving, though the texture will be slightly different.
Cheesy Bashed Potatoes
Leek and Potato Soup
It's absolutely amazing with freshly baked garlic bread! Peel and dice the potatoes. Wash the leeks and cut them into sections. Add a bowl of water to a blender and blend the potatoes and leeks until smooth. Pour the mixture into a pot, add salt and water, bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. It's incredibly simple!
Asparagus, Pea, and Potato Medley
Looks fancy, but is super easy to make. Just prepare all the ingredients, blanch them in boiling water, then stir-fry with a few cloves of crushed garlic in a hot wok with a little oil and a pinch of salt. It's the most impressive dish for the effort!
Steamed Potato and Bacon Cubes
Peel the potatoes and dice them. Dice the bacon and onions as well. Pour plenty of oil into a pan, add the potato cubes, and stir-fry over medium-low heat until they are browned and crispy. Then add the onion and bacon cubes. Stir-fry for a few more minutes, season with salt, then transfer to a steamer and steam for 20 minutes until done.
Potato and Bacon Cakes
English-Style Chips
For authentic English-style chips, you must choose good, long potatoes. Cut them into strips slightly thicker than your finger. The secret is to soak them in salted water for about half an hour. Blanch them in boiling water until the color changes, then drain and coat with starch before frying. Remove when they change color, then fry again until golden brown.
