How to Make Cloud Eggs: A Simple Guide

Cloud eggs, named for their fluffy, cloud-like appearance, are a visually stunning and delicious breakfast treat. Made with just eggs and a few optional ingredients, they’re easy to prepare and perfect for impressing family or guests. Here’s a basic guide to get you started.

### Ingredients

- 2–4 large eggs

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Optional: 1 tablespoon grated cheese (Parmesan or cheddar), 1 teaspoon chopped herbs (chives or parsley), or a pinch of paprika for flavor.

### Steps

1. Separate the Eggs: Carefully crack the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Place the whites in a clean, dry bowl and the yolks in a separate small bowl. Ensure no yolk gets into the whites, as this prevents them from whipping properly.

2. Whip the Egg Whites: Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the egg whites on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form (when you lift the beater, the peaks stand straight up). This usually takes 3–5 minutes. For extra fluffiness, add a pinch of cream of tartar while whisking.

3. Season and Fold Gently: Gently fold in salt, pepper, and any optional ingredients like cheese or herbs. Be careful not to overmix, or the eggs may lose their airiness.

4. Shape and Bake: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spoon the whipped egg whites onto the sheet, mounding them into individual “cloud” shapes. Make a small well in the center of each cloud and place an egg yolk inside.

5. Bash: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the yolks are set to your liking (runny or firm).

### Serving Suggestions

Serve cloud eggs immediately, garnished with extra herbs or a drizzle of hot sauce. They pair well with toast, avocado, or fresh fruit for a balanced meal. Enjoy your heavenly breakfast!
