How to Make Cranberry Bread Rolls: A Step-by-Step Guide

Cranberry bread rolls are a delightful treat, blending soft, fluffy dough with tart-sweet cranberries. Here’s a simple recipe to guide you.

Ingredients:

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

- ¼ cup sugar, divided

- 1 tsp salt

- ½ cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)

- 2 large eggs

- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

- 1 cup fresh or dried cranberries

- 1 tbsp orange zest (optional, for brightness)

Instructions:

1. Activate yeast: Mix warm milk, 1 tsp sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.

2. Prepare dough: In a large bowl, whisk flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, and yeast mixture. Knead until a smooth, elastic dough forms (about 8–10 minutes).

3. First rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.

4. Shape rolls: Punch down dough. Roll into a 12x8-inch rectangle. Sprinkle cranberries and orange zest evenly. Roll tightly into a log, then slice into 8–10 rolls.

5. Second rise: Place rolls in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.

6. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter if desired.

Serving Tip: Enjoy warm with cream cheese or butter for extra richness. These rolls are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or holidays!
