How to Make Black Sesame Dinner Rolls

Black sesame dinner rolls are soft, fluffy, and nutty, perfect as a side dish or snack. Here’s a simple recipe to guide you.

Ingredients:

- 250g all-purpose flour

- 30g sugar

- 2.5g instant yeast

- 30g black sesame paste (or ground black sesame seeds mixed with a little milk)

- 1 egg

- 100ml warm milk

- 30g unsalted butter, softened

- A pinch of salt

Steps:

1. Activate yeast: Mix warm milk and sugar, then add yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

2. Prepare dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and black sesame paste. Add the egg and yeast mixture. Knead into a smooth dough. Add softened butter and knead until elastic (about 10-15 minutes).

3. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

4. Shape rolls: Punch down the dough and divide into 8-10 equal portions. Roll each into a ball and place on a baking tray.

5. Second rise: Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

6. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush rolls with a little milk or egg wash. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Tips: For a richer flavor, sprinkle extra black sesame seeds on top before baking. Enjoy them warm with butter or jam!
