How to Make Delicious Radish and Pork Bone Soup

Radish and pork bone soup is a nourishing and comforting dish, loved for its sweet flavor and health benefits. Here’s a simple yet flavorful recipe to guide you.

Ingredients:

500g pork bones (preferably marrow bones), 1 large white radish (peeled and cut into chunks), 3-4 slices of ginger, 1 green onion (tied), 1-2 dried red dates (optional, for sweetness), salt to taste, and a splash of rice wine or vinegar (to remove odor).

Steps:

1. Prepare the bones: Blanch pork bones in boiling water for 3-5 minutes, then rinse under cold water to clean impurities. This ensures a clear broth.

2. Cook the broth: Place bones, ginger, green onion, and dried dates in a large pot. Add enough water to cover (about 2 liters). Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Skim off any foam, cover, and cook for 1.5–2 hours until the bones are tender.

3. Add radish: Cut radish into 2–3 cm chunks and add to the pot. Simmer for another 30–40 minutes until the radish turns translucent and soft.

4. Season: Remove the green onion. Add salt (and a pinch of pepper if desired) to taste. For extra richness, a splash of rice wine during simmering can enhance the flavor.

Tips:

- Use fresh, firm radish for a sweeter taste.

- Simmer slowly on low heat to extract maximum flavor.

- Serve hot as a starter or a main dish, perfect for cold days.

This soup is not only easy to make but also packed with nutrients, making it a family favorite!
