How to Make Enoki Beef Rolls: A Simple Guide

Enoki beef rolls are a delicious and visually appealing dish, perfect as an appetizer or side. Here’s an easy step-by-step guide to making them at home.

Ingredients:

- 200g beef slices (sirloin or flank, thinly cut)

- 1 bunch enoki mushrooms (washed and roots trimmed)

- 2 green onions (chopped)

- 1 tbsp soy sauce

- 1 tsp sesame oil

- 1/2 tsp sugar

- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- Toothpicks (for securing rolls)

Instructions:

1. Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine beef slices with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Let it sit for 15 minutes to absorb flavors.

2. Prepare the filling: Pat enoki mushrooms dry. Mix them with chopped green onions.

3. Assemble the rolls: Place a beef slice flat. Add a small bundle of enoki mixture (about 1-2 tablespoons) at one end. Tightly roll the beef around the mushrooms, then secure with a toothpick. Repeat for all ingredients.

4. Cook the rolls: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Arrange the rolls seam-side down and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Turn and cook for another 2 minutes.

5. Finish and serve: Reduce heat. Add 2 tablespoons of water, cover, and steam for 3-4 minutes until beef is tender. Remove toothpicks before serving.

These savory, tender rolls pair well with a dipping sauce of soy sauce and rice vinegar. Enjoy this quick, flavorful dish that’s sure to impress!
