How to Make Adorable Cat Paw Marshmallows

Cat paw marshmallows are a delightful treat that combines cuteness with sweetness. These fluffy, paw-shaped delights are easy to make at home and perfect for parties or snacking. Here’s a simple guide to crafting them.

First, gather your ingredients: gelatin, sugar, water, cornstarch, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. For the color, use pink or brown food coloring to mimic paw pads.

Start by blooming 2 tablespoons of gelatin in ½ cup of cold water for 5 minutes. In a saucepan, heat ½ cup of sugar, ⅓ cup of water, and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches 240°F (115°C). Remove from heat, stir in the gelatin until melted, then add vanilla and a pinch of salt.

Pour the mixture into a stand mixer with a whisk attachment. Beat on high for 10-15 minutes until thick and glossy. Quickly fold in a few drops of pink or brown food coloring for the paw pads.

Dust a 9x9 inch pan with powdered sugar and cornstarch. Pour the marshmallow mixture and let it set for 4 hours. Once firm, cut into small circles. For each paw, arrange four smaller circles around a larger one, using a dab of marshmallow cream as glue.

Dust again with cornstarch mixture to prevent sticking. Let them dry for an hour, and your cat paw marshmallows are ready! Store in an airtight container for up to a week. These whimsical treats are sure to charm both kids and adults alike.
