Marbled Loaf Bread: A Simple Guide

Creating a marbled loaf bread at home is easier than you think, combining vanilla and cocoa dough for a visually stunning treat. Here’s a step-by-step guide.

First, prepare the basic dough: mix 300g bread flour, 30g sugar, 3g salt, 5g instant yeast, and 1 egg. Gradually add 120ml warm milk and 40g softened butter, kneading until smooth and elastic (about 10-15 minutes). Divide the dough into two equal portions. To one portion, add 20g cocoa powder and 1 tbsp milk, kneading until evenly colored.

Let both doughs rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size. Roll each portion into a rectangle, then stack the cocoa dough on top of the plain dough. Roll them up tightly like a jelly roll, pinch the seams to seal, and place the dough in a greased loaf pan.

Cover and let it rise for another 40 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before slicing to reveal the beautiful marbled pattern.

This versatile bread is perfect for breakfast or snacks, and the marble effect adds a delightful touch to homemade baking. Enjoy the process and the delicious results!
