How to Make Braised Chicken Drumsticks with Mushrooms

Braised chicken drumsticks with mushrooms are a comforting, flavorful dish perfect for family meals. Here’s a simple yet delicious recipe to guide you.

Ingredients:

- 4-6 chicken drumsticks (skin-on for richness),

- 200g fresh shiitake mushrooms (or dried, rehydrated),

- 3 cloves garlic (minced),

- 1 tbsp ginger (grated),

- 2 tbsp soy sauce,

- 1 tbsp oyster sauce,

- 1 tsp sugar,

- 500ml chicken broth,

- 1 tbsp vegetable oil,

- Salt and pepper to taste,

- Green onions for garnish.

Steps:

1. Prep the chicken: Pat the drumsticks dry and season with salt and pepper. Sear them in hot oil over medium-high heat until golden on all sides (about 5 minutes). Set aside.

2. Sauté aromatics: In the same pot, stir-fry garlic and ginger until fragrant (1 minute). Add mushrooms and cook until they soften.

3. Simmer: Return the chicken to the pot. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30–40 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and the sauce thickens.

4. Finish: Adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with steamed rice.

This dish combines tender chicken, earthy mushrooms, and a savory sauce, making it a crowd-pleaser. Enjoy!
