Geoduck, also known as "sea bamboo", belongs to the family Lamellibranchus of the phylum Mollusca. It is a kind of marine shellfish. Its two shells are usually the same size, thin and fragile, and have serrations, parashells, and water pipes (also called tentacles) at the front end. This water pipe is very similar to a fat and thick meat pipe. When it looks for food, it stretches out and is shaped like an elephant pulling, hence the reputation of Geoduck. Its meat is white in color, tender in meat, and clear and sweet in taste. It is regarded as one of the precious and delicious seafood varieties for nourishing yin.
