Shrimp and tofu is a quick, nutritious dish loved for its delicate flavors and tender textures. Here’s a simple yet delicious recipe to try.
Ingredients: 200g fresh shrimp (peeled and deveined), 300g soft tofu (cubed), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tbsp ginger (grated), 2 green onions (chopped), 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp oyster sauce, ½ tsp sesame oil, salt, pepper, and 2 tbsp oil.
Steps:
1. Prep: Pat the tofu dry to prevent sticking. Season shrimp with a pinch of salt and pepper.
2. Sauté: Heat oil in a wok over medium-high. Add garlic and ginger; stir-fry until fragrant (30 seconds).
3. Cook shrimp: Add shrimp and cook until pink (1-2 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
4. Simmer tofu: Gently place tofu cubes in the wok. Drizzle with soy sauce and oyster sauce. Carefully toss to coat without breaking the tofu. Add 2 tbsp water, cover, and simmer for 3 minutes.
5. Combine: Return shrimp to the wok. Sprinkle with sesame oil and green onions. Stir gently for 1 minute.
Serve hot with steamed rice. For extra flavor, add chili flakes or a dash of rice wine. This dish balances umami and freshness, making it perfect for busy weeknights or family meals!
