How to Make Stir-Fried Shrimp with Loofah: A Simple Guide

Stir-fried shrimp with loofah is a light, nutritious, and quick-to-cook dish, perfect for busy weeknights. Here’s a step-by-step guide to making it deliciously.

Ingredients:

- 200g fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined

- 1 medium loofah, peeled and sliced into rounds

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tbsp cooking oil

- 1 tsp soy sauce

- 1/2 tsp oyster sauce

- Salt and pepper to taste

- A pinch of sugar (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prep the ingredients: Rinse shrimp and pat dry. Peel the loofah (it’s tender and cooks quickly), then slice into 1cm-thick rounds. Mince garlic.

2. Cook the shrimp: Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until they turn pink. Remove and set aside.

3. Stir-fry loofah: In the same wok, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then add loofah slices. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.

4. Combine and season: Return shrimp to the wok. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, pepper, and sugar (if using). Toss everything together for 1 minute until well-coated.

5. Serve: Transfer to a plate and enjoy hot with steamed rice!

Tips: For extra flavor, garnish with chopped green onions. Loofah cooks quickly, so avoid over-frying to keep it crisp-tender. This healthy dish balances umami and freshness, making it a family favorite.
