How to Make Stir-Fried Squid with Green Peppers

Stir-fried squid with green peppers is a quick, delicious dish that balances tender squid and crisp peppers. Here’s a simple guide to making it at home.

Ingredients:

- 500g fresh squid, cleaned and sliced into rings

- 2 green peppers, cut into strips

- 3 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tbsp ginger, grated

- 2 tbsp cooking oil

- 1 tbsp soy sauce

- 1 tsp oyster sauce

- ½ tsp sugar

- A pinch of salt and pepper

Steps:

1. Prep the Squid: Rinse squid rings under cold water, pat dry, and marinate for 10 minutes with a pinch of salt and pepper.

2. Stir-Fry Aromatics: Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Add garlic and ginger, stir-fry for 10 seconds until fragrant.

3. Cook the Squid: Add squid rings and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes until they curl and turn opaque. Avoid overcooking to keep them tender.

4. Add Peppers: Toss in green pepper strips and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.

5. Season: Drizzle in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix well and cook for another 30 seconds.

6. Serve: Transfer to a plate and enjoy hot with steamed rice.

Tips: For extra flavor, add a dash of rice wine or chili flakes. Serve immediately for the best texture!
