How to Stir-Fry Beef with King Oyster Mushrooms

Stir-frying beef with king oyster mushrooms is a quick, delicious dish that balances tender beef, meaty mushrooms, and savory flavors. Here’s a simple guide to perfecting it.

Ingredients: 200g beef sirloin, sliced thinly against the grain; 3-4 king oyster mushrooms, halved lengthwise and sliced; 1 bell pepper, julienned; 2 cloves garlic, minced; 1 tbsp soy sauce; 1 tbsp oyster sauce; 1 tsp cornstarch; 1 tbsp vegetable oil; Salt and pepper to taste.

Steps:

1. Marinate the beef: In a bowl, mix beef slices with soy sauce, cornstarch, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Let it sit for 15 minutes to tenderize.

2. Prep the mushrooms: Trim the mushrooms, wash, and pat dry. Sauté them in hot oil for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned, then set aside.

3. Cook the beef: Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Stir-fry marinated beef for 1-2 minutes until seared. Remove and reserve.

4. Combine: In the same wok, stir-fry garlic and bell pepper for 30 seconds. Return beef and mushrooms to the wok. Add oyster sauce, toss everything evenly, and cook for 1 more minute.

5. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds if desired and enjoy hot with rice.

This dish is best served immediately for the ideal texture—tender beef, juicy mushrooms, and a rich, umami-packed sauce. Enjoy your homemade creation!
