How to Make Stir-Fried Onion Beef

Stir-fried onion beef is a quick, flavorful dish that balances tender beef and sweet onions. Here’s a simple guide to making it at home.

Ingredients: 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced; 2 large onions, cut into wedges; 2 tbsp soy sauce; 1 tbsp oyster sauce; 1 tsp cornstarch; 2 cloves garlic, minced; 1 tbsp vegetable oil; salt and pepper to taste.

Steps:

1. Marinate the beef: In a bowl, mix beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of pepper. Let it sit for 15–20 minutes to tenderize.

2. Prep the onions: Separate onion wedges and soak in cold water for 10 minutes to reduce sharpness, then drain.

3. Stir-fry: Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Add garlic and stir until fragrant. Toss in beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove beef and set aside.

4. Cook onions: In the same wok, add onions and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until softened but still slightly crisp.

5. Combine: Return beef to the wok, add salt to taste, and toss everything together for 1 minute. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Tips: For extra flavor, add a dash of sesame oil or sliced bell peppers. Slice beef against the grain for maximum tenderness. Enjoy this savory, comforting dish in under 30 minutes!
