How to Make Delicious Shitake Mushroom Patties

Shitake mushroom patties are a savory, versatile dish perfect for appetizers, main courses, or meal prep. Here’s a simple yet comprehensive guide to making them.

Ingredients:

- 200g ground pork or chicken

- 150g fresh shitake mushrooms, finely chopped

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tbsp soy sauce

- 1 tsp sesame oil

- 1 egg (as binder)

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs (optional, for texture)

- Green onions for garnish

Steps:

1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Soak fresh shitake mushrooms in warm water for 20 minutes until soft. Drain, finely chop, and squeeze out excess water to prevent sogginess.

2. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine ground meat, chopped mushrooms, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, egg, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs (if using). Mix thoroughly until well blended.

3. Shape the Patties: Form the mixture into small, flat patties, about 1-2 cm thick.

4. Cook: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Pan-fry the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. For a healthier option, bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes.

5. Serve: Garnish with green onions. Enjoy hot with rice, in buns, or as a side dish with dipping sauce.

Tips: For extra flavor, add grated ginger or a dash of five-spice powder. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. These patties are easy to customize and sure to satisfy!
